Guideline for Abstract Submission






1. Important dates
  ABSTRACT SUBMISSION SITE OPENS: Monday, 12th September, 2016
  ABSTRACT SUBMISSION SITE CLOSES: Monday, 21th November, 2016
  Notification of Acceptance: Thursday, 12th January, 2017
2. Submission process
3. Presentation type
1) Oral presentation: 8minutes presentation and 2minutes discussion.
2) Topic Highlights: selected abstract for oral presentation will be assigned to Topic Highlights. 10 minutes presentation and 5 minutes discussion.
3) Poster presentation: poster will be exhibited at designated places.
4) Poster discussion: selected abstract for poster presentation will be discussed at podium.
4. Submission guideline
1) Abstracts must be submitted in English via the congress website ONLY.
2) Authors may further edit and modify their submitted abstracts until the submission deadline
3) It is the responsibility of the authors to ensure the accuracy of the abstract.
4) Abstracts should not exceed 300 words in length.
  1. - Tables and figures are not permitted.
  2. - There will be no additional editing after the submission deadline, Monday, 21 November, 2016.
  3. - Presented abstracts will be published in the abstract book.
  4. - Presenting authors should be indicated.
  5. - All presenting authors of accepted abstracts are required to register online by pre- registration deadline, Friday, 3 February, 2017.
  6. - Abstract Submission Acknowledgement will be sent to the presenting author via e-mail.
5) Composition of abstract
  1. - Title: Do not put your title in quotation marks or periods. Authors’ names and affiliations should not appear in the title.
  2. - Body: Abstracts should state objectives, methods, results and conclusions of the study.
  3. - Authors, Affiliations, and Institutions: You will be required to enter all of the co-authors and affiliations/institutions. Please ensure you each co-au thor’s contact address, phone number, and email at hand.
6) Authorship on multiple abstracts is permitted.
7) Abstracts may be submitted by AOTA Members and non-members.

6. Withdrawal of Abstracts
If the presenting author of accepted abstract does not register by regular registration deadline, the abstract will be automatically withdrawn from the final program. If you must withdraw an abstract, please notify the Secretariat in advance.
7. Reviewing Process
1) Abstracts are reviewed and scored by members of the Program Organizing Committee. Limited number of abstracts will be selected for 10 minute oral presentations.
2) The remaining accepted abstracts will be scheduled for poster presentation.
3) Data and information submitted in abstracts reviewed by the AOTA Program Committee is kept strictly confidential until the time of publication or presentation. Confidentiality is relevant in terms of patent application and what constitutes public disclosure of intellectual property. Reviewers must confirm electronically or in writing (email, etc.) that this information will be kept confidential until the time of publication or presentation by the authors.
8. Travel Grant
500 USD travel grant will be awarded to a number of presenting author of abstract selected by
POC. Submission for travel grant can be done via congress website.
